CHS Listening Session
November 20
Join Us in a Collaborative Effort and Open Dialogue to Share Concerns and Ideas
We want to thank the Charlottesville High School staff, Charlottesville City Schools administration and School Board for the tireless commitment they have shown to our students these last few days and throughout the school year.
We applaud the decision to engage in a period of pause to allow for a "reset" of school policies, procedures and culture, and we appreciate the transparency and responsiveness of Dr. Gurley and the School Board.
We also want to express our sincere appreciation for the many dedicated individuals, nonprofits and companies who have stepped up to ensure that critical needs, like access to meals, remain accessible to all CHS students during this reset period.
Charlottesville United for Public Education is working to elevate community voices by providing support for a Listening Session Monday at 6pm in the Martin Luther King Performing Arts Center. School Board members Lisa Larson Torres and Dom Morse will be in attendance to listen to the community's concerns.
We firmly believe that this collaborative effort and open dialogue will pave the way for constructive discourse and actionable strategies in the pursuit of a more equitable and inclusive educational environment within our community. At our core, Charlottesville United is committed to amplifying community voices and fostering a platform for meaningful dialogue and action.
If you are unable to attend in person but would like to get more involved with efforts to address both short- and long-term challenges and opportunities within Charlottesville public education, email us at charlottesvilleunited@gmail.com.
Yours in partnership,
Charlottesville United for Public Education
